Sunday ride to glorious Cheynes Beach

To follow-up the 20th Anniversary Celebrations there was a ride organised to Lorraine and Chris Prescott’s place at Cheynes Beach.

The ride left Albany for the Porongurups for a coffee/ice cream break. We then rode further up Chester Pass Road turning right after the old Kamballup Store. We rode a fair way along this road before turning again and ending up on the South Coast Highway. We hadn’t gone this way before and even though some of the roads are straight, the scenery was great riding parallel to the Stirlings.

Arriving at Lorraine and Chris’ place at Cheynes Beach.
We arrived at the beach house of Lorraine’s and Chris’ to be provided with a lovely lunch followed by a delicious sponge cake, percolated coffee and tea. Lorraine certainly spoilt us.

Magnificent views from the veranda where Lorraine had prepared lunch.
All this was topped off by sitting on the verandah marvelling at the view. And the weather was perfect.
It was great having John Sinclair from Perth join us on the ride before heading towards Walpole and home.
I thought it finished off the weekend perfectly.

Thanks again Lorraine, lunch was very much appreciated and she said see you again next year! Don’t think we’ll forget.
