A grey and cool day welcomed 20 bikes at the info centre for a 10.00
o’clock start. Kim called those present to attention for Gary Dibble to
explain the format and hand out the route sheet/questionnaire, creating
a nervous group of riders. Eventually off we went to Whaler’s Cove for
the first set of questions, then on to Goode Beach for the next set
followed up by Stony Hill for more puzzles and then back to Haz Beanz
for coffee.
After the coffee break and more clues to be found we bolted up the terrace past the leafy dragon then went up the original hill climb track for more questions and more scratching of heads. Then it was out to the fire station for lunch.
Ray and Judy were on back-up duty and a few more people in cars also arrived to bolster the numbers to about 30.
Gary had given out raffle tickets and after revealing the solutions to the quiz questionnaire, numbers were drawn from a helmet and prizes (chocolates) were distributed.
We then had a great lunch from the good spread prepared by the fire
station team, with Kim saying a few words before the presentation.
This was followed up by Garry presenting the Albany Volunteer Fire and
Rescue Service with a cheque for $3500 on behalf of the Club, proceeds
from the 2019 Hill Climb Weekend, finishing off another great ride
enjoyed by all.
