We organised an overnighter to the Munty Pub to tell stories of
adventure in India after our holiday. Don’t know what Louise was
thinking but she soon had our attention by falling over while
turning around in my driveway.
14 bodies and 11 bikes met at Karragulen servo on a lovely
morning and headed east to Beverly via Brookton Hwy. Three of
the lads travelled on gravel roads wherever they could find them
and got to the pub five mins before the rest with good timing.
Stopped at Beverly for a chat then off to Quarading via a back
road for lunch. Then on to Bruce Rock and Muntagin pub. A bit
warmer now so straight to bar for a cool drink or two and a chat
with a couple of the locals.
Diane, the owner, booked us in and shuffled the rooms to fit us
in. The place was very clean and our beds comfy. Had a yummy BBQ
dinner, then slide show of India, and a early nite was had by
all. Very unusual for us lot.
Got up in the morning to find out the locals were all dressed in
fancy dress so felt bad as we didn’t join in with our lairy
costumes. John with his Bali clothes, Clive with his Hawaiian
shirt and hat and Bruce with his Maharaja hat and shirt. Had
breaky, then dirt riders took off and then some went to Merriden
for fuel and the other four went back via Quarading – York to
Perth.
Great weekend and very friendly service at Munty Pub. Well worth a visit if you are looking for an overnighter.
