January Bring Your Oldest Bike Ride

Photos by John and Bob

Chris Prescott and Andrew’s bikes lined up waiting for the start at the info bay.
It was a perfect day for the popular “Your Oldest Bike Ride” with a great variety of bikes from the Orient, Europe, England, USA and Brazil. Brazil, you might ask, Ray rode a 250 CBF Honda which are manufactured in Brazil, apparently Honda has been making motorcycles in this part of the world for many years.

Triumph Tiger Cub 200.
Back on the ride was Paul riding a 200cc Triumph Cub, his first ride with the Club and his bike ran beautifully. I think it was the longest ride he’d taken it on with the only problem being the ignition key which tried (successfully) to jump out of the headlight.

There was a good turn-out of around 25 bikes on the “Bring Your Oldest Bike Ride” in January. Pictured are Steve, Bob and Andrew enjoying a break at Youngs Siding.
Andrew took off first so as not to be left behind on his 250cc BMW, which means you’ll never catch up to him.

Geoff was riding his son Kevin’s 1966 Triumph Bonnie.
Apart from an idiot driver on the road, the ride to Youngs Siding was uneventful, but very pleasant especially with the wind behind us as we rode along, Bob and Geoff were there to meet us as well.

Bob, Chester and Ray enjoying a bit of shade.
With everyone socialising it took a while for the riders to jump on their bikes and head to Emu Point. Although now the wind was head-on and pretty strong.

The European sector.
At Emu Point, some of the partners and wives were there to meet the gang for lunch. Maureen rode her electric push bike from home and was letting others ride her bike to see what it was like, I must admit it looked impressive.
Chatting hard under the trees.

Lovely spot at Emu Point.
After lunch we headed home. Thanks Chris for doing back-up duties, Warwick came along for the ride in the car, they were amazed to see a kangaroo jump out in front of them along Golf Links Road, you never know what will pop out on the road do you?
