The three roads ride started off on a cool dry morning with five bikes
meeting at the Information Bay. Bob Rees met us but couldn’t come on the
ride as his back is troubling him enough to stop him going on longer
rides.
We headed off and a few stopped at Bakers Junction to pick up morning tea for our first stop at Narrikup. Geoff (R100RT) met us at Narrikup and now there were six! We headed up Spencer road to Denbarker Road and then headed into Mt Barker for fuel as a few were not sure they had enough for the ride. There were two other big groups of riders out that we saw so the servo in Mt Barker was busy!
From Mt Barker we headed up to Tenterden and as we turned into the turn-off to Salt River Road we met Glen Oliver (R1200GS) who joined the ride and now there was seven! The ride with the Stirlings as a backdrop is spectacular, and the ride down Woogenellup Road with the Porongurups and Stirlings on either side is very special.
A great ride on deserted roads and no issues to report. We stopped at Mt Barker Bakery for lunch and headed home after an approx 300 kilometre ride on some of my favourite roads!
