There were about 12 bikes on this ride. It was a nice and
sunny spring day. We left the meeting point at 10.00 am, taking
Chester Pass Road to the Bluff Knoll café, which is open
again.
We had lots of catching up to do. We had just come back from our
3 month trip so it was very nice to see everybody again. Jo had
come on the ride too and Jim was there on his new Ducati,
beautiful machine. John McKinnon left us after our morning tea
break, as he was going to take the dirt roads back to Albany.
We had our lunch stop in Gnowangerup and had a look at John
Davis’ Honda, very nicely done up.
We took Formby Road back to Chester Pass Road. Jo, Ronnie and I
went through the Porongurups and we filled up in Mount Barker.
Jo took the Albany Highway back home and Ronnie and I went
along the Denbarker road. All up we did about 410 kilometres,
nice to be back on the bike again after 3 months as a passenger.
The canola looked stunning against the Porongurups and the
Stirlings and I was so happy to be back in our beautiful South
West. Our big trip through Canada and America was absolutely
great but it’s always nice to be back home too.
