Once
again a good turn-out of members for the Cheynes Beach ride, with
around
30 bikes including four members from Denmark who can add at least
another 100kms to their ride. We certainly cover a lot of brands:
Ariel, BSA, BMW, Harley, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Moto Guzzi, Sunbeam,
Triumph and Yamaha all represented on the ride, dating from 1947 to
2009.
We
passed a large mob of roos just before the Kalgan bridge and by
the
time we got to the “Rusty Bikes” Phil and Lurline’s Triumph Speed Twin
was getting a bit overheated, so they decided to head for home. Several
more turned up at Upper Kalgan to join the ride including
Russell on his KTM.
We headed into Cheynes with no more bike
problems and sat on the
beach
where we had lunch. On the return to Albany Chris Prescott’s lighting,
horn and indicator wiring melted on his ‘76 T3 Moto Guzzi but he
managed to get home OK, so Des had no customers for the back-up vehicle
which is always good news.
