A PERFECT autumn day greeted us for our early morning
breakfast ride to Frenchmans Bay (early by my standards, up at 7.15 on a Sunday morning!)
Sue Haydock together with Mary Sutcliffe did back-up duties in Sue & Andrew's VW
Beetle, towing our trailer, which I think was bigger than the car.
There was a good crowd of people at the Amity Tavern, riding 20 bikes of all persuasions.
Arriving at Frenchmans Bay the BBQ's were lit and breakfast cooked.
This was followed by a ride around Muttonbird/Elleker Road, Lancaster Road, Rocky Gully
Road and onto Emu Point for a drink or ice cream. By this time it was about 11.45 am,
nearly lunch time.
There was certainly a diverse mixture of bikes as you can see from the list: '78 BMW
R65, Honda Shadow, BMW R80, DKW 350cc, 1966 Yamaha 350cc, 1965 350cc Aermacchi, 1500 Gold
Wing, R100RT sidecar outfit, 1951 Trimph Speed Twin sidecar outfit, 1948 Indian Chief,
1955 BSA C1OL, 1951 BMW 51/3, Vincent Rapide, 1959 Triumph Thunderbird, BMW R80RT, Ducati
Monster 900, Ducati Monster 600, Honda VFR, BMW R100RS, Kawasaki Vulcan Classic. |
