Hospice Ride and BBQ to Garry Taylor’s place

Story by Kim, pics John and Andrew

Chatting at the gathering.
Perfect weather for a ride, and around 25 bikes turned up with some family members. $700 was raised on the day with Club members and families digging into their pockets for the Albany Hospice.

We left the information Bay for a leisurely ride to Elleker Store for coffee or ice cream. After half an hour chatting we headed off to the Wind Farm. Everyone was eager to get to the BBQ.

Short stop at the Wind Farm, then off to Garry’s place to eat and more chatter. After lunch was the game of “Sliding a coin along a table to get it as close to the bottle as possible”.

Petra slides a coin.
This year it was a bottle of Vodka, donated by Garry Taylor. It was very confusing at times because no one kept an eye on their coins. So we had a 10 way tie! We then all had to slide one coin each at the bottle to get a winner.

Garry points at winner.

Andrew Haydock took out the first prize, the bottle of vodka. Chester Powell taking second prize which was a fabulous door chime made and donated by Ike Van Melle from Denmark.

Thank you to everyone who made it a great day and helped out. We had a (phone a friend) back-up for the day, just in case someone broke down, thanks Chester.

And thanks again Garry.
