3000cc hand built rotary valve nitro V-twin

Imposing nacelle on this oneLast year on a bike trip over east Chris and I stumbled on ‘The World’s Smallest Motorcycle Museum’, at Juan’s Café in Dorrigo, NSW.

Inside was plenty of motorcycle paraphernalia, including vintage, speedway and this drag bike called “Big Ned”.

Built by Mark Walker, a self-taught engineer who’s been building motorbikes all his life. The character of Big Ned was inspired when Mark and his companion Lynne saw an art exhibition by Sidney Nolan featuring portrayals of Ned Kelly.

Thousands of hours later, Ned is a ‘running, roaring reality.’ Built entirely by hand (and lathe), this 3000cc, rotary-valve head, nitro fuel injected V-twin is not only an engineering innovation that must be seen to be believed, but goes as fast as it looks - its first run was on July 4, 2009.

So if you’re heading between Armidale and the coast seek a small town called Dorrigo and have a look. From the look on Chris' face she couldn't believe what blokes could and would do in the shed - web editor. Not parked: just
