Our Club together with the Vintage Motorcycle
Club and Vintage Car and Tractor clubs put on a display on Saturday,
May 16 at the Resources Centre carpark and Alison Hartman Gardens in
York Street. This was followed on the Sunday with a ride to Denmark via
Narrikup.
Each Club could pick their own route, or go on
any that they felt
suited their bike or vehicle. Bill from the Vintage Bike Club had
organised a route through Albany
and we joined them at the Chester Pass roundabout heading out to
Narrikup for a morning tea stop.
There were cars there from Mt Barker also on
their way to Denmark. We then had a good ride to Denmark on good roads
in lovely weather.
Cars,
bike and tractors were then roughly assembled alongside the river
carpark in front of the playground. It was interesting to see the other
old vehicles on the road apart from
the bikes.
There
were also a couple of interesting Denmark bikes - an early 1970’s
750 Sport Ducati and a 1200cc 1940’s Harley Davidson outfit which had
come
down for a look.
Thanks to Wendy for driving Andrew’s Kombi with trailer for back-up and thanks to Club members who attended the Display on Saturday, especially Daniel who made the trip down from Bow River on his Ariel on the Saturday and Sunday - great effort.
